Emotionally devastating in the best way
Demon Slayer has moments that hit harder than any film I've seen this year. Entertainment District Arc finale completely wrecked me. Koyoharu Gotouge has an understanding of grief, hope and the human condition that is genuinely exceptional.

Demon Slayer creates a world with its own logic, history, and rules. Everything is internally consistent. The way humanity within monsters shapes the world's politics and relationships is incredibly thoughtful. the unexpected sympathy for villains is the payoff to years of setup.

Worth tolerating the filler for
Demon Slayer has some filler episodes that slow the pacing. Get past them. The story arcs surrounding Hinokami are worth every minute of slower content. The best parts are genuinely great.

Zenitsu Agatsuma's development across the series is one of the most convincing character journeys I've experienced. You understand every choice even when you disagree with it. the unexpected sympathy for villains makes the whole thing click.
