A masterpiece of the medium
Demon Slayer isn't just a great anime — it's a great work of fiction full stop. Koyoharu Gotouge's storytelling is dense, emotional, and intellectually rigorous. The theme of the cost of being a demon slayer is handled with genuine philosophical depth.

The villain is unforgettable
Great stories need great antagonists. Demon Slayer's villain understands that the most compelling opposition comes from someone with internally coherent logic. The conflict between Inosuke Hashibira and the antagonist is one of the great rivalries.
