Decent Lasagne — nothing more, nothing less
Lasagne at this place was fine. The deeply savory flavour was there but not distinguished. fresh basil was present in the right quantities but without the care that makes the difference. You can taste when something is being made to a formula.

Traditional versus modern Lasagne — which wins?
I've now had Lasagne prepared traditionally and in a modern interpretation. Both are interesting. The traditional version emphasises aged balsamic in the way Italian cooking is intensely regional with little crossover between provinces. The rich and umami character is more pronounced and direct.

Lasagne exceeded every expectation
I went in with low expectations — I'd had mediocre versions before. What I found was Lasagne made with real commitment to fresh basil and technique. The deeply savory result was more complex and satisfying than anything I'd had before.

Spice level warning — Lasagne is not what I expected
I underestimated Lasagne. The rich and umami description didn't prepare me for the reality. San Marzano tomatoes brings a heat or pungency that builds steadily rather than hitting upfront. By halfway through I was sweating but couldn't stop eating.

Lasagne as comfort food — exactly what I needed
Some dishes exist to comfort and Lasagne is absolutely in that category. The deeply savory quality works on something almost primal — you feel the warmth of it immediately. aged balsamic does work that no substitute can replicate.

Restaurant review — Lasagne that actually delivered
I'm sceptical of any restaurant claiming to do Lasagne well, having been disappointed often enough. This one delivered. The deeply savory base was authentic and the use of fresh basil showed real knowledge.

Home cooking attempt — Lasagne from scratch
I spent an afternoon making Lasagne from scratch following a traditional recipe. Getting San Marzano tomatoes right was the main challenge — it's not as straightforward as it looks. The fresh and herbal result was rewarding once I got it right.

First time trying Lasagne — completely converted
I had never tried Lasagne before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The fresh and herbal taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. aged balsamic is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.

Lasagne for a dinner party — went down extremely well
I made Lasagne for eight guests who had varying familiarity with the cuisine. Every single person asked for the recipe. The rich and umami profile was the main talking point — no one had quite experienced San Marzano tomatoes used that way before.
