Breaking Bad (2008)

There are no filler episodes in Breaking Bad. Every single hour justifies its existence. Hank Schrader has one of the great character arcs in television. I've already rewatched it twice.

What makes Breaking Bad special is how every character feels fully realised. Not just Skyler White — even the minor characters have depth. Vince Gilligan clearly spent years thinking about this world.

Breaking Bad lives up to maybe 80% of the hype. the consistency of the writing from start to finish is genuinely excellent. The pride and ego element is well done. My only complaint is that things drag slightly in the middle. Still four stars.

Breaking Bad has a few uneven episodes across its run but the high points are some of the best television ever made. Ozymandias alone is worth the subscription. pride and ego is explored in genuinely surprising ways.

So many shows fail their endings. Breaking Bad stuck the landing. The final episode resolves Walter White's arc in a way that feels both surprising and inevitable. Vince Gilligan clearly knew where this was going from episode one.

Knowing how Breaking Bad ends makes the early episodes even more rewarding. Vince Gilligan plants seeds so subtly you don't notice them until the second watch. Walter White's journey hits harder when you know where it leads.

Breaking Bad doesn't let you off the hook. the slow methodical build of tension across five seasons is genuinely uncomfortable in ways few shows dare to be. It respects the audience's intelligence. Dead Freight is just astonishing television.

Breaking Bad is excellent television but I wouldn't rank it as the all-time greatest. the slow methodical build of tension across five seasons is legitimately fantastic but some middle episodes lose momentum. Worth watching absolutely, just with tempered expectations.
