Better on second watch
I liked The Prestige when I first saw it, but the second viewing is where it clicked. Once you notice how Christopher Nolan plants every detail early on, the whole film transforms. Layers everywhere.

Read full review →There are scenes in cinema you never forget. For me, the opening monologue about the trick in The Prestige is one of them. Christopher Nolan constructs it with total precision and it lands exactly as intended. Pure craft.
