The ending absolutely floored me

No Country for Old Men builds so carefully to its conclusion that when it arrives you feel genuinely moved. The evil that cannot be reasoned with thread pays off in a way that's earned rather than manipulative. Couldn't sleep afterward.

Can't believe I waited this long to watch it

Everyone told me to watch No Country for Old Men for years. Finally did and instantly understood why. the refusal to deliver catharsis is immediately apparent. Now I'm recommending it just as loudly to everyone else.

Overrated but still very good

No Country for Old Men has been praised so heavily that no film could live up to the hype completely. It's an excellent film — Roger Deakins's cinematography is genuinely remarkable — but it's not the untouchable masterpiece some claim.

Not my genre but it completely won me over

I usually avoid this kind of film but gave No Country for Old Men a chance after constant recommendations. Completely converted. Joel and Ethan Coen transcends genre entirely. It works as pure human drama first and everything else second.
