Home cooking attempt — Croquetas from scratch
I spent an afternoon making Croquetas from scratch following a traditional recipe. Getting saffron right was the main challenge — it's not as straightforward as it looks. The deeply aromatic result was rewarding once I got it right.

Decent Croquetas — nothing more, nothing less
Croquetas at this place was fine. The smoky and savoury flavour was there but not distinguished. Jamón Ibérico was present in the right quantities but without the care that makes the difference. You can taste when something is being made to a formula.

Honest verdict on Croquetas — good but not exceptional
Croquetas here was solidly made — deeply aromatic without anything to complain about. smoked paprika was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Why Croquetas deserves more attention

Street food Croquetas — the authentic version
The best Croquetas I've ever had came from a street stall, not a restaurant. The smoky and savoury intensity was completely different — more direct and uncompromised. Jamón Ibérico was used without hesitation, the way it should be.

Finding the best Croquetas in the city — a personal search
I spent three months trying every version of Croquetas I could find locally. The variation in quality is extraordinary. The best version handled smoked paprika with genuine knowledge and the smoky and savoury result was noticeably superior.
