Honest verdict on Sel Roti — good but not exceptional
Sel Roti here was solidly made — simply seasoned and clean without anything to complain about. dried yak cheese was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Sel Roti as comfort food — exactly what I needed
Some dishes exist to comfort and Sel Roti is absolutely in that category. The earthy and warming quality works on something almost primal — you feel the warmth of it immediately. buckwheat does work that no substitute can replicate.
