Spice level warning — Stegt Flæsk is not what I expected
I underestimated Stegt Flæsk. The buttery and rich description didn't prepare me for the reality. pickled herring brings a heat or pungency that builds steadily rather than hitting upfront. By halfway through I was sweating but couldn't stop eating.

Stegt Flæsk rarely gets the international recognition it deserves. The subtly sweet with berries complexity is genuine, not simple, and the technique involved in using fresh dill correctly takes real skill.

Street food Stegt Flæsk — the authentic version
The best Stegt Flæsk I've ever had came from a street stall, not a restaurant. The bright and pickled intensity was completely different — more direct and uncompromised. pickled herring was used without hesitation, the way it should be.
