Honest review after 5 days — mostly great, a few gripes
Visited Maldives for 5 days. The positives are real: coral reefs is every bit as impressive as advertised, and the food scene around Malé is genuinely excellent — try garudhiya fish soup if you haven't. total relaxation and luxury was an unexpected bonus.

Honeymoon in Maldives — Addu Atoll and the countryside delivered everything
We chose Maldives for our honeymoon and it was perfect for us. The romantic atmosphere in Addu Atoll at night, the drama of coral reefs, the intimacy of small restaurants serving roshi flatbread — all of it added up to exactly what we were hoping for.

Mixed experience in Maldives — beautiful but overhyped
Maldives is undeniably beautiful. Malé old Friday Mosque and the area around Maafushi have a visual quality that photographs don't capture fully. I enjoyed saagu bondibai and appreciated most perfect turquoise water on earth. That's all real.
