Expected to hate CrossFit, now cannot imagine stopping
A friend dragged me to a CrossFit trial class. I went to be polite. I was terrible. I went back because I couldn't stand being terrible at something.
That was 6 months ago. The kipping pull-up I stumbled through in that first class is now something I teach to newer beginners. box culture has become a genuine interest rather than a confusion. the community atmosphere in a good box happened somewhere around month three and reframed the whole thing. kipping movements causing injury if rushed is still there but it's familiar now — part of the texture of the practice. I'm glad my friend didn't take no for an answer.
