Three things I wish someone had told me before growing Wisteria
After growing Wisteria for over a year here is what I'd tell a beginner.
First: feeding with a high-potassium fertiliser in summer to encourage flowering is not optional — it's the foundation everything else depends on. Second: roots disturbing foundations if planted too close to buildings will happen and you should know how to handle it before it does. Third: a trellis panel as a garden divider genuinely matters — the right position unlocks vertical growing habit maximising space in small gardens in a way a poor position never will. bud break and rapid early growth in spring is the payoff for getting all of this right. It's worth every bit of effort.
