As a complete beginner I was nervous about starting with Passionflower. It turned out to be more forgiving than I expected, as long as I paid attention to feeding with a high-potassium fertiliser in summer to encourage flowering.

I grow mine in a trellis panel as a garden divider which is working really well. dramatic seasonal transformations from bare stems to full cover was a genuine surprise — I didn't expect it to look or perform like that. bud break and rapid early growth in spring has been the highlight so far. My biggest mistake early on was ignoring slow establishment in the first season before taking off, which I'd recommend addressing immediately.
