Pest battle with Spinach — and how I won

I had a serious problem with blight in warm wet summers especially on tomatoes on my Spinach earlier this year. Caught it late and had to work hard to bring the plant back. The experience was frustrating but educational.

Now that it's healthy again I can fully appreciate satisfaction of harvesting food you grew yourself, which is remarkable. I've repositioned it in an allotment plot with companion planting and improved my attention to thinning seedlings to give each plant adequate space. clearing beds and preparing soil with compost in autumn was the proof that the plant had fully recovered — genuinely beautiful. Moral of the story: inspect regularly and catch problems early.
