Three things I wish someone had told me before growing Kale

After growing Kale for over a year here is what I'd tell a beginner.

First: consistent deep watering rather than frequent shallow watering is not optional — it's the foundation everything else depends on. Second: blight in warm wet summers especially on tomatoes will happen and you should know how to handle it before it does. Third: an allotment plot with companion planting genuinely matters — the right position unlocks satisfaction of harvesting food you grew yourself in a way a poor position never will. planting out and establishing after last frost is the payoff for getting all of this right. It's worth every bit of effort.
