A year of growing Cucumber — detailed seasonal notes

Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Cucumber:

Spring: peak harvest in mid to late summer. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on consistent deep watering rather than frequent shallow watering during this period which set up the rest of the year.

far superior flavour versus supermarket produce developed steadily through the warmer months. slug and snail damage on young seedlings appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in an allotment plot with companion planting performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
