Pest battle with Carrot — and how I won
I had a serious problem with slug and snail damage on young seedlings on my Carrot earlier this year. Caught it late and had to work hard to bring the plant back. The experience was frustrating but educational.
Now that it's healthy again I can fully appreciate full control over growing methods and chemical use, which is remarkable. I've repositioned it in a raised bed in full sun with good-quality compost and improved my attention to thinning seedlings to give each plant adequate space. peak harvest in mid to late summer was the proof that the plant had fully recovered — genuinely beautiful. Moral of the story: inspect regularly and catch problems early.
