Beginner success with Carrot — here is what helped
As a complete beginner I was nervous about starting with Carrot. It turned out to be more forgiving than I expected, as long as I paid attention to feeding with a high-potassium fertiliser once flowering begins.
I grow mine in a raised bed in full sun with good-quality compost which is working really well. satisfaction of harvesting food you grew yourself was a genuine surprise — I didn't expect it to look or perform like that. peak harvest in mid to late summer has been the highlight so far. My biggest mistake early on was ignoring blossom end rot from irregular watering and calcium deficiency, which I'd recommend addressing immediately.
