I don't have a garden so a grow bag on a paved patio or balcony is my only option for Carrot. It absolutely works — with the right attention to feeding with a high-potassium fertiliser once flowering begins you can get excellent results in containers.

full control over growing methods and chemical use is fully achievable even in a pot. clearing beds and preparing soil with compost in autumn is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: slug and snail damage on young seedlings. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
