A year of growing Bell Pepper — detailed seasonal notes
Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Bell Pepper:
Spring: sowing under cover from late winter for early crops. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on consistent deep watering rather than frequent shallow watering during this period which set up the rest of the year.
full control over growing methods and chemical use developed steadily through the warmer months. slug and snail damage on young seedlings appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in a greenhouse or polytunnel for season extension performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
