Pest battle with Bell Pepper — and how I won
I had a serious problem with blossom end rot from irregular watering and calcium deficiency on my Bell Pepper earlier this year. Caught it late and had to work hard to bring the plant back. The experience was frustrating but educational.
Now that it's healthy again I can fully appreciate far superior flavour versus supermarket produce, which is remarkable. I've repositioned it in a decorative potager with flowers and vegetables mixed and improved my attention to thinning seedlings to give each plant adequate space. clearing beds and preparing soil with compost in autumn was the proof that the plant had fully recovered — genuinely beautiful. Moral of the story: inspect regularly and catch problems early.
