I brought Bromeliad home six months ago with high hopes and almost no knowledge. The first challenge was understanding watering generously in summer and reducing in winter — something I hadn't expected to matter so much. Once I got that right, the whole thing settled down.

I grow it in a summer patio with shelter from wind and cold nights and the position has been ideal. dramatic large leaves or flowers that create an instant impact is what keeps drawing me back to it. flowering period in peak summer heat was the moment that made me glad I persisted through the learning curve. One honest warning: failure to flower indoors without sufficient light intensity caught me off guard in month two. Stay on top of it from the start.
