Three things I wish someone had told me before growing Bird of Paradise
After growing Bird of Paradise for over a year here is what I'd tell a beginner.
First: protecting from cold draughts and air conditioning vents is not optional — it's the foundation everything else depends on. Second: leaf browning from low humidity in centrally heated rooms will happen and you should know how to handle it before it does. Third: a bright living room away from draughts genuinely matters — the right position unlocks natural air-purifying properties noted in indoor conditions in a way a poor position never will. active growth flush when moved outdoors in early summer is the payoff for getting all of this right. It's worth every bit of effort.
