I've grown several varieties within the Bird of Paradise family and have some observations to share. exotic appearance that transforms any indoor or outdoor space varies noticeably between them, more than catalogue descriptions suggest. The care fundamentals are shared — protecting from cold draughts and air conditioning vents applies across all of them.

yellowing leaves from overwatering or cold root temperatures affects some more than others, particularly in adverse conditions. I grow mine in a warm humid conservatory or heated greenhouse which works well for most varieties. reduced watering rest period in winter is the clearest moment of differentiation between varieties — that's when the character of each comes through. Worth growing a few side by side if you have the space.
