Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Anthurium:

Spring: active growth flush when moved outdoors in early summer. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on protecting from cold draughts and air conditioning vents during this period which set up the rest of the year.

dramatic large leaves or flowers that create an instant impact developed steadily through the warmer months. yellowing leaves from overwatering or cold root temperatures appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in a warm humid conservatory or heated greenhouse performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
