Slow start but a stunning finish with Redbud

The first few months with Redbud were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting staking correctly with a low stake to allow the trunk to flex and strengthen right was the turning point.

significant impact on the microclimate and character of a garden became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a garden focal point visible from the house windows it gets the attention it deserves. blossom or leaf burst in spring creating dramatic transformation was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: root encroachment near drains or house foundations. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
