Slow start but a stunning finish with Dogwood
The first few months with Dogwood were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting staking correctly with a low stake to allow the trunk to flex and strengthen right was the turning point.
exceptional seasonal spectacle from blossom through autumn colour became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a boundary or avenue planting in a larger space it gets the attention it deserves. autumn colour and fruit or berry display was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: honey fungus affecting roots especially on stressed trees. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
