Here are my notes from twelve months of growing String of Pearls:

Spring: dormancy and reduced watering in winter. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on using a gritty well-draining cactus compost mix during this period which set up the rest of the year.

water-storing fleshy leaves in geometric rosettes developed steadily through the warmer months. etiolation from insufficient light appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in an office desk with a grow light performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
