A year of growing Jade Plant — detailed seasonal notes
Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Jade Plant:
Spring: new offsets appearing around the base in spring. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on using a gritty well-draining cactus compost mix during this period which set up the rest of the year.
water-storing fleshy leaves in geometric rosettes developed steadily through the warmer months. mealybug infestations in leaf crevices appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in a sunny windowsill in a terracotta pot performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
