Container growing Hen and Chicks — a practical guide from experience
I don't have a garden so a shallow dish garden arrangement is my only option for Hen and Chicks. It absolutely works — with the right attention to watering only when the soil is completely dry you can get excellent results in containers.
extremely low maintenance between waterings is fully achievable even in a pot. new offsets appearing around the base in spring is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: leaf drop in cold or draughty positions. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
