A year of growing Haworthia — detailed seasonal notes
Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Haworthia:
Spring: dormancy and reduced watering in winter. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on avoiding water on the rosette centre to prevent rot during this period which set up the rest of the year.
water-storing fleshy leaves in geometric rosettes developed steadily through the warmer months. root rot from overwatering and poor drainage appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in an office desk with a grow light performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
