Container growing Echeveria — a practical guide from experience

I don't have a garden so a shallow dish garden arrangement is my only option for Echeveria. It absolutely works — with the right attention to using a gritty well-draining cactus compost mix you can get excellent results in containers.

extremely low maintenance between waterings is fully achievable even in a pot. new offsets appearing around the base in spring is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: mealybug infestations in leaf crevices. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
