I planted Echeveria at entirely the wrong point in the growing calendar and spent the first few months wondering what I'd done wrong. leaf drop in cold or draughty positions didn't help matters. Once I understood providing at least six hours of bright indirect light things improved substantially.

easy propagation from leaf cuttings is what makes this plant worth persisting with. In a shallow dish garden arrangement it finally looks as good as I'd imagined. surprising flower spikes in late spring redeemed the whole effort. If you're starting out: do your timing research before you plant.
