Three things I wish someone had told me before growing Echeveria

After growing Echeveria for over a year here is what I'd tell a beginner.

First: avoiding water on the rosette centre to prevent rot is not optional — it's the foundation everything else depends on. Second: mealybug infestations in leaf crevices will happen and you should know how to handle it before it does. Third: a sunny windowsill in a terracotta pot genuinely matters — the right position unlocks extremely low maintenance between waterings in a way a poor position never will. surprising flower spikes in late spring is the payoff for getting all of this right. It's worth every bit of effort.
