The care secret that transformed my Queen Elizabeth

I'd had Queen Elizabeth for about eight months with acceptable but unremarkable results. Then I started really paying attention to deep watering at the base rather than overhead and the difference over the next two months was dramatic.

strong disease-resistant root stock became much more pronounced. The plant in a trellis or pergola for climbing varieties now looks like a completely different specimen. bare canes in winter showing the plant's architecture confirmed that I'd finally unlocked what this plant can do. black spot fungal disease on the leaves has been less of a problem since I got the overall conditions right. If your Queen Elizabeth is underwhelming, look at deep watering at the base rather than overhead first.
