Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Iceberg:

Spring: hips forming in autumn for wildlife interest. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on applying rose-specific granular fertiliser in early spring during this period which set up the rest of the year.

dense double blooms with a classic silhouette developed steadily through the warmer months. black spot fungal disease on the leaves appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in a dedicated rose bed with good air circulation performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
