Slow start but a stunning finish with Windmill Palm

The first few months with Windmill Palm were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting planting in free-draining soil to prevent crown rot right was the turning point.

instantly transformative architectural presence in any setting became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a sheltered sunny courtyard or walled garden it gets the attention it deserves. best planting and repotting in late spring as soil warms was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: red palm weevil damage in warmer European regions. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
