I've been growing Sago Palm for a full year now and want to capture what each season offered. best planting and repotting in late spring as soil warms was the clear high point — everything you're told about Sago Palm at that time of year is true. But the plant has something to offer in every season, which I hadn't expected.

remarkable toughness once properly established is consistent throughout the year, which is one of its real strengths. I've settled on a sheltered sunny courtyard or walled garden as the ideal position. planting in free-draining soil to prevent crown rot was the lesson I took into next year. slow recovery from transplant shock when moved as large specimens is the only thing that interrupted the enjoyment. Otherwise: excellent.
