Six months with Majesty Palm — what I actually learned
I brought Majesty Palm home six months ago with high hopes and almost no knowledge. The first challenge was understanding wrapping the crown with fleece in winter for borderline hardy species — something I hadn't expected to matter so much. Once I got that right, the whole thing settled down.
I grow it in a Mediterranean or exotic themed garden border and the position has been ideal. remarkable toughness once properly established is what keeps drawing me back to it. new frond production visible in spring and early summer was the moment that made me glad I persisted through the learning curve. One honest warning: crown damage and death in severe or prolonged frost caught me off guard in month two. Stay on top of it from the start.
