Slow start but a stunning finish with Dendrobium

The first few months with Dendrobium were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting repotting into fresh bark medium every two or three years right was the turning point.

spectacular flower forms that rival almost any plant became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a decorative cachepot for a formal living room it gets the attention it deserves. repotting best done just after flowering finishes was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: aerial root desiccation in dry centrally heated rooms. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
