The propagation success I didn't expect with Dendrobium

I started with one Dendrobium and now have four, all from propagation. The process is straightforward once you understand feeding with a half-strength orchid fertiliser weekly in summer — something I picked up from trial and error rather than any guide.

I display them in a grouping with other tropical plants for humidity which shows off extraordinary bloom longevity lasting weeks to months at its best. triggering a new flower spike with cooler autumn nights is when they're most impressive. aerial root desiccation in dry centrally heated rooms has been my main challenge across all of them, but it's manageable now that I know what to look for. A genuinely generous plant if you let it be.
