The care secret that transformed my Dendrobium

I'd had Dendrobium for about eight months with acceptable but unremarkable results. Then I started really paying attention to repotting into fresh bark medium every two or three years and the difference over the next two months was dramatic.

spectacular flower forms that rival almost any plant became much more pronounced. The plant in a north or east-facing windowsill now looks like a completely different specimen. repotting best done just after flowering finishes confirmed that I'd finally unlocked what this plant can do. scale insects on pseudobulbs and undersides of leaves has been less of a problem since I got the overall conditions right. If your Dendrobium is underwhelming, look at repotting into fresh bark medium every two or three years first.
