I don't have a garden so a grouping with other tropical plants for humidity is my only option for Cymbidium. It absolutely works — with the right attention to watering by soaking the pot then letting it drain fully you can get excellent results in containers.

pseudobulbs that store water and nutrients is fully achievable even in a pot. peak bloom display through winter and spring is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: failure to rebloom without a temperature drop trigger. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
