Slow start but a stunning finish with Cymbidium
The first few months with Cymbidium were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting repotting into fresh bark medium every two or three years right was the turning point.
wide hybridisation resulting in an almost unlimited colour range became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a north or east-facing windowsill it gets the attention it deserves. peak bloom display through winter and spring was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: failure to rebloom without a temperature drop trigger. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
