Slow start but a stunning finish with Cattleya
The first few months with Cattleya were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting feeding with a half-strength orchid fertiliser weekly in summer right was the turning point.
spectacular flower forms that rival almost any plant became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a north or east-facing windowsill it gets the attention it deserves. triggering a new flower spike with cooler autumn nights was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: crown rot from water sitting in the leaf crown. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
