I've grown several varieties within the ZZ Plant family and have some observations to share. wide range of forms, textures, and light requirements varies noticeably between them, more than catalogue descriptions suggest. The care fundamentals are shared — checking soil moisture before watering rather than watering on a fixed schedule applies across all of them.

overwatering causing yellowing leaves and root rot affects some more than others, particularly in adverse conditions. I grow mine in a plant shelf or bookcase as a green interior feature which works well for most varieties. minimal watering and no feeding through winter is the clearest moment of differentiation between varieties — that's when the character of each comes through. Worth growing a few side by side if you have the space.
