A year of growing Snake Plant — detailed seasonal notes
Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Snake Plant:
Spring: minimal watering and no feeding through winter. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on repotting only when roots are visibly emerging from the drainage holes during this period which set up the rest of the year.
wide range of forms, textures, and light requirements developed steadily through the warmer months. overwatering causing yellowing leaves and root rot appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in a hanging planter for trailing varieties performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
