A year of growing Rubber Plant — detailed seasonal notes
Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Rubber Plant:
Spring: slowing down in autumn as light levels drop. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on rotating pots a quarter turn each week for even growth during this period which set up the rest of the year.
air-purifying properties in enclosed indoor spaces developed steadily through the warmer months. fungus gnats in consistently damp potting compost appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in a bright indirect windowsill away from heating vents performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
