Experienced grower's notes on Peace Lily
I've been growing plants seriously for over fifteen years and Peace Lily remains a reliable favourite. For anyone starting out: the most critical thing is repotting only when roots are visibly emerging from the drainage holes. Everything else follows from that.
overwatering causing yellowing leaves and root rot is the challenge that trips up most beginners and some experienced growers too. I've been growing mine in a plant shelf or bookcase as a green interior feature for three seasons now and the results are consistently good. wide range of forms, textures, and light requirements is what makes it worth coming back to year after year. summer growth needing more frequent watering and feeding is when I show it off — it earns its place fully then.
