Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Rosemary:

Spring: drying or freezing surplus growth in late summer. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on planting in free-draining soil in the sunniest spot during this period which set up the rest of the year.

fast growing from seed or small plug plant developed steadily through the warmer months. root rot from overwatering in poorly drained pots appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in a dedicated raised herb bed near the back door performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
